About the artist
Nuno Barbedo (b. 1983, Lisbon), known as THECAVER, is a Portuguese multidisciplinary artist whose practice grew out of the graffiti movement. Active since 1998 and now based in Porto, his work spans large-scale murals, painting, illustration, sculpture and graphic design. His distinctive visual language combines bold outlines, intense colour and hybrid forms that move between figuration and abstraction.
Over more than two decades, THECAVER has participated in exhibitions, urban art projects and international festivals across Europe and beyond. His work has also extended into collaborations with brands including Adidas, Vans and Super Bock, while remaining closely connected to the visual language and independent spirit of graffiti.
