VAN DER SANDE is shaped by the shared perspective of mother and daughter, Laurence and Lidewij.

Growing up in different generations, we are shaped by different influences and references, yet share a remarkably similar way of looking at the world. Art has become part of that shared perspective: something we discover, collect, discuss and create around.

Rooted in Amsterdam and Antwerp, VAN DER SANDE brings together a growing collection of original art and one-of-a-kind objects. Guided by curiosity rather than convention, we are drawn to distinctive voices, unexpected colour and work that makes us want to look again.

Alongside collecting, creating has become an important part of VAN DER SANDE. Laurence develops her own abstract paintings as LILAS, as well as the Light Works - unique sculptural light objects in which colour, material and character come together. Lidewij’s instinctive eye, ideas and often unexpected choices form part of the creative dialogue behind VAN DER SANDE.

What connects everything is not a particular style, artist or medium, but a shared eye for art, and the pleasure of discovering what happens when different perspectives meet.
